до свидания & გამარჯობა

As I've mentioned before, I'm leaving again.

I have been in the states for almost one year, and that's the longest time I have stayed continuously in the states in awhile. I'll be going to the Republic of Georgia and staying there until the end of December and possibly travel to nearby countries afterwards.

Somethings have changed since I was abroad last time(e.g. 1 check-in baggage allowance? WHAT?), somethings have remained the same(e.g. My never-ceasing penchant for carrying absolutely everything on my back) but this is also the first time for many new things: I've never been to a (former) communist country; I've never lived in a country where I didn't speak a word of its language(Georgian and some Russian-I can say random words and greetings in Russian but not enough to get me anywhere) so needless to say that it's all exciting, even though I'm leaving a huge task behind in the states.

My knowledge of Georgia is limited to recent Russian invasions, the death of a Georgian luger, and Stalin so I really don't know what to expect. I keep on picturing this former communist country where the living standards are very basic but then again, Soviet Union was already 2 decades ago. I bet now the streets are abound with McDonald's and Starbucks.

I'm also stopping by Munich for 11 hrs so I'm trying to cram in a few basic German expressions(Scheiße) into my head.

I'm not sure of the Internet connection availability at my resience but I'll try to update regularly. Wish me luck and I'll see you later.
